Below are two verses
out of the book of Matthew. The subject is divorce and how God sees it. Both
verses are similar but I would like to elaborate on them for those who may not
understand it.
Matthew 19:9 and I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for
sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”
Here he is saying a man/woman who seeks
divorce and then remarries commits adultery in Gods eyes. There is one reason
why God allows divorce to go unscathed and that is if your spouse commits
adultery with another being. If a man cheats on his wife she is there for
freely allowed to divorce him and remarry without punishment after death. Same
goes for if the wife cheats on him.
Matthew 5:32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
Matthew 5:32 but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
These verse same as before states the only way to
seek a divorce without punishment later is by being cheated on. This verse also
states though that a man who marries a divorced woman with judgment against her,
same with a woman marrying a man , if they did not divorce on God’s terms that
they also commits adultery.
I truly believe the Lord is correct in his beliefs on
divorce. When someone takes their vows they say they will love each other
through sickness and health until death do they part. Anyone swears those vows
to Jesus and then breaks them is breaking a promise to God. This should be
punished, but like he states those who are adulterated against should not have
to live unhappily and faithful to Jesus if their spouse is not faithful also.
